“Hey, there! My name is Jose and I am an all-around creative. Welcome to my story!

For nearly two decades, I have been a professional photographer, photo retoucher, digital artist and mentor to creatives all while serving on active duty in the U.S. Navy. 

Throughout my time as a business owner, I have helped countless people grow in photography, editing, lighting, graphic design, website design, and workflow – many of whom went on to start and grow successful businesses of their own.

Upon retiring from the Navy in 2017 after 25 years of service, I expanded Tribe Artisan into a full-fledged multimedia agency. I simply fell in love with the arts and I wanted to help small businesses with their marketing needs all while helping creatives find jobs. In my quest to offer the highest quality services to my clients, I pursued formal education in fields that enabled me to have a deep level of understanding of multimedia services.

Subsequently, I earned a BS in Media Arts (3D Modeling & Animation) from the Art Institute San Diego; an AS in Graphic Design & Website Design from Platt College San Diego; and attended the Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design to pursue a BS in Illustrative Design.

Today, I have a team of professionals who are the best at what they do. We help business owners and startups with their multimedia and marketing needs.

Personally, I enjoy photography most of all. People are my favorite! I also love digital art and illustrative design – logos, digital composites, etc. I have a well-rounded background and am a seasoned professional.
